I’ve never had a watch polished. You get over minor scratches and dings real quick. I want the watch as intact as the day it was sold in terms of sharp edge transitions. A ding here and a search there, meh, don’t care. Here’s a piece of advice. Don’t scrutinise. Just wear and enjoy. Throw your loupes away. If my naked eye can’t see it, it doesn’t exist. Let your watches live their lives as the manufacturer intended. If you are OCD and regularly polish your watch then this is not your game. A scratched watch is a happy watch. Unmarked pieces live in bank vaults; these really are the saddest watches, their mechanical hearts never beat in harmony with their owner over the decades on real life adventures.

Can’t beat a Bluesy. Excellent presentation. Each model has its own thing going on. The Sub is such an iconic piece. You can’t go wrong.

Personally I love the Coke GMT but Tudor blew it out of the park with Gilded bezel just a touch of vintage to bring out the elegance of this masterpiece

Great episode and I agree 100% - condition is the most important factor. I purchased my grail watch earlier this year after a long search. Got my 18238 Day-Date in mint condition, full set, just back from a full Rolex service. No stretch to bracelet, running +/- 0 sec. Watch is a 98 out of 100. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Disaster or not, branding awful probably - however why is no one actually showing the new watches in detail and properly. How good is the bezel? What exactly have they done to the movement in the Supermarine? How’s the macro finishing? What’s the on the fly micro adjust like?, how comfortable is the new bracelet?

If you are buying a gold Tudor as a way to get a Daytona you are losing.

The Holy Trinity historical roots has always been confined to the Swiss Watch market. In my humble opinion, The Holy Trinity is an outdated branding excercise. With brands like FP Journe and A Lange & Sohnne, there are now many newcomers that rival these old school watch houses. To APs credit, nobody talks about their amazing catalogue other than their Royal Oak, which in many ways is the least amount of AP you can buy. AP minute repeaters and grand comps get zero attention. Great video, keep making content.

You said a lot about each of these fine watchmakers but like politicians you said nothing. The so-called Holy Trinity of Watch Makers refers ONLY to those watch makers who founded their companies in Switzerland, which you fail to mention. Many argue that Breguet (which may be a better timepiece than any you mentioned herewith) can NEVER be among this trinity since Breguet founded his company in France - and should always be considered a French establishment, similarly to Rolex, which was founded in England, and of course Lange is German.

all this talk of rolex bubble burst and market crashed... meanwhile their shelves are empty and I got laughed out of 3 AD's when trying to buy a GMT Meteorite dial... cheapest they can be had on the gray market is $10K over the already higher MSRP for 2024.

The patina on German silver looks beautiful. I own a 2006 A. Lange & Sohne, the movement is made out of German Silver, breathtaking.

I came across a Steve McQueen Explorer ref #1655 1973 and I'm interested in it but there's no box or papers .

That German silver dial is going to patina so nicely! You should show an example of aged German silver so people can get an idea of what that beauty will transform into!

I was able to buy a Milgauss 116400 clear crystal black dial from an attorney . The person was trading up for another watch. this watch was discontinued in 2013, I may take it to my local AD and have it polished to bring it back to original. the AD is outstanding and they do good work. this Milgauss was only produced for 6 years. I have learned my lesson, this is a keeper for long term.
